JUSTIFICATION

Disability is a condition that affects not only the individual who experiences it but also impacts their immediate family and surrounding environment, changing dynamics in education, nutrition, and health status, among many other individual characteristics. The characterization of persons with disabilities includes those with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments that, when interacting with various barriers, may hinder their full and effective participation in society on equal terms with others. According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol, approved on December 13, 2006, it is reaffirmed that all individuals, regardless of their disability, can enjoy all human rights and fundamental freedoms. Thanks to the development of local laws protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, awareness has grown regarding the need to improve quality of life and conditions for social inclusion. Physical activities are an effective means to facilitate integration and promote respect, while contributing to the development of cooperation, equality, concentration, socialization, teamwork, and improving both physical and mental health. Based on these principles, Autism Soccer is convinced that it is necessary to provide pedagogical and didactic tools to teachers, community leaders, students, parents, and the general community involved in sports training, recreation, and physical activity for children and adolescents with motor and intellectual disabilities. Thus, the first methodological diploma in sports intervention for individuals with special needs aims to serve as a guiding compass that allows us to effectively and safely fulfill our mission.

Presentation

The Diploma in the Rivera Method for sports intervention in individuals with special needs through pre-sports activities represents a major challenge. It involves implementing activities that improve quality of life through play in institutions such as schools, clubs, and nonprofit organizations. New trends in physical intervention focus on playful and motivational activities to engage children and adolescents with motor and intellectual disabilities.

The Diploma for teaching the Rivera Methodology implemented by Autism Soccer is a strategy aimed at providing technical and methodological tools to teachers, community and social sports leaders, students in service programs, parents, and the general community committed to developing physical, recreational, and sports activities for children and adolescents with motor and intellectual disabilities.

MAIN OBJECTIVE

Implement a methodological intervention model through physical-sports activity for children, youth, and adolescents with motor and intellectual disabilities according to their age, improving the quality of life of both the participant and their family and social environment.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

RIVERA METHODOLOGY

It is a virtual theoretical-practical program that provides participants with technological resources (videos, interactive presentations, forums), as well as pedagogical and didactic tools to enrich practice and achieve the competencies that physical activity offers in the holistic development of children and adolescents with motor and intellectual disabilities.

Evaluation

Online evaluation will be carried out through the assessment of interactive dynamic resources after certain theoretical units, including short tests and multimedia production such as videos where participants demonstrate learned knowledge, practical application, and their ability to adapt it to their reality, along with participation in expert-led discussions through chat.

Certification

The diploma is approved with 100% attendance in virtual sessions and audiovisual production requirements, certifying participation and basic competencies in guiding physical, recreational, and sports activities as a method of intervention for children and adolescents with motor and intellectual disabilities.
